Course Descriptions

Operator of Uninspected Passenger Vessels (OUPV/Six Pack) License

This course meets the Coast Guard requirement that certain individuals must successfully complete to obtain an OUPV License.  If you satisfactorily complete this course you will be issued a certificate to present to the Coast Guard.  This certificate satisfies the examination portion of the Coast Guard requirements for an OUPV license.  The Coast Guard has other requirements that you will have to submit prior to receiving your license; such as a physical exam, at least 360 days experience on the water, etc.  OUPV is commonly called a six-pack or charter captain’s license.  This Coast Guard license is required by those operating uninspected vessels that carry no more than six passengers for hire.

This course meets the US Coast Guard requirements to issue a 100 Gross Ton Master’s License.  This license is required by those operating inspected vessels of 100 GT or less.  Upon completion of our course you will receive a HRMTC at TCC certificate to present to the Coast Guard along with the other requirements to obtain your license.

This course meets the US Coast Guard requirements to issue a 100 Gross Ton Master’s License.  This license is required by those operating inspected vessels of 100 GT or less.  Upon completion of our course you will receive a HRMTC at TCC certificate to present to the Coast Guard along with the other requirements to obtain your license.

Assistance Towing Endorsement

This course meets Coast Guard requirements to obtain a towing endorsement on your license.  It is a one-day (6-hour) course that is offered periodically throughout the year. Subjects include: towing safety, forces in towing, towing equipment and hazards along with standard towing procedures.

Auxiliary Sail Endorsement

This course meets Coast Guard requirements to obtain an auxiliary sail endorsement on your license.  It is a one-day (4-hour) course that is offered periodically throughout the year. Subjects include; sailing vessel seamanship, anatomy of a sailboat, terms and definitions and sailing rules of the road.

Basic Training

The Basic Training (formerly Basic Safety Training) course is a 5-day course that includes theory and practical hands-on training and assessment for the following four modules of STCW A-VI/1-1 to 1-4:

  • Basic Firefighting: 16 hours
  • First Aid and CPR: 8 hours
  • Personal Safety & Social Responsibilities: 4 hours
  • Personal Survival Techniques: 12 hours
